Programme

The AISTS MSA (Master of Advanced Studies in Sports Administration and Technology) is offered yearly through AISTS (International Academy of Sports Science & Technology).

The AISTS MSA is a unique postgraduate programme in sports management endorsed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The programme is held over the course of one year in Lausanne, the Olympic Capital, Switzerland.

Participants are trained by experts in sports and academics, in the following multidisciplinary fields applied directly to sport:

• Management & Economics
• Technology
• Law
• Sociology
• Medicine

The best academic and technology institutes of Switzerland: the Federal Polytechnic University of Lausanne (EPFL), the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva as well as the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP), co-sign the AISTS MSA degree.

Target audience

Aimed at sports-minded professionals wishing to broaden their knowledge in sport administration, the AISTS MSA helps participants achieve a stronger skill set for their existing or desired career in the sports industry.

Emphases/Curriculum

The programme includes 7 months in the classroom (lectures, case studies, actvities and field trips), 2 months of work experience in the sports industry, with the rest of the time spent on a team project and research paper.

January - July: Lectures (full-time) & team project (must be completed in Lausanne)
February - August: Research Paper
September - December: at least 8 weeks of work experience

Admission/Entrance requirements

Total fees approx.:	CHF 25,400

There are approximately 30-40 participants accepted each year in the programme and the application requirements are as follow: - Candidates must possess a university degree, recognised by the universities co-signing the AISTS MSA degree (EPFL, Universities of Lausanne and Geneva and IDHEAP) - Candidates must be planning to pursue a career in the sports world - Candidates must be fluent in English, have an excellent level of written English as all lectures are given in English - Candidates should have some years of professional experience - Candidates must be able to demonstrate a certain degree of involvement or interest in sport - Candidates must complete and return the application form with all requested documentation (as outlined in the application form)

AISTS was founded in 2000 by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), IMD Business School, the University of Lausanne, the University of Geneva, the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP), Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), the City of Lausanne and the Canton of Vaud.
