The new MDDS programme emphasis integrated drug development which is science-based, efficient, economical, high quality and rapid - leading to better and safer medical products for patients. The MDDS programme is an European University training programme following the rules of the Bologna system. The training blocks are built in a modular way to be completed while working in the health care environment. It is designed and organised by ECPM, European Center of Pharmaceutical Medicine, together with universitiy and other partners involved in the health care system. Dr. Annette Mollet Head of the program |
Target audienceThe MDDS programme is targeted at representatives from pharmaceutical industry, clinical research organisations, academic and government decision- and policy-makers who already have a good grounding in the basics and will benefit from a more in-depth, comprehensive and systematic immersion into modern medical product development, regulation and market introduction.Applicants must have a higher university degree, such as Master, MD, PharmD or PhD and a primary interest in medical product discovery, development, regulation or related activity. OrganisationECPM collaborates with the Center for Drug Development Science, CDDS, at the Georgetown University Medical Center, Department of Pharmacology, Washington, DC, which was founded in September 1994 by Prof. Carl C. Peck. The center's focus is on the investigation of clinical trial designs and data analysis, bio-pharmaceutical, pharmacometric and science management techniques applied to clinical phases of drug development. ECPM and CDDS share members of the Science Boards, have joint programmes and exchange of expertise in education and special techniques. ECPM formed another alliance with the Center for Drug Research, LACDR, in NL-Leiden in 1997 in collaboration with Prof. Douwe D. Breimer and Prof. Adam Cohen. Several workshops have been co-organised. |
