Emphases/CurriculumThe programme consists of a General Management Section which runs for nine months that is followed by a Specialisation Section.General management: The general management modules are designed to enhance the understanding of the core business concepts required to strengthen the management skills. The programme also organises extra seminars and lectures to help participants gain self-awareness and confidence. Advanced Healthcare Specialisation: The Healthcare specialisation, oriented towards the specific needs of the healthcare sector, provides participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to meet future challenges in the ever changing health environment. With the advanced specialisation, students will deepen their knowledge of the world of healthcare around three central topics:
Every participant defines - together with their employer or any healthcare company they wish to work with - a project relative to a current problematic in the health environment. The participants work on their projects during approximately eleven months, from January to November. Throughout the initial stage they receive help from an expert and the professor in charge of the module. Participants are supposed to present their projects twice: first at an intermediary stage in order to demonstrate progress and secondly at the end of the module. Study tour: The Faculty of Business and Economics | HEC Lausanne, in collaboration with the ESSEC Business school, has organised a mandatory study tour for the Executive MBA in Healthcare Management participants. The classes will take place in ESSEC Paris. |
Practical relevanceThe programme is highly international in terms of its content, its professors and its participants. Indeed, participants come from all over the world - Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa - which creates a friendly, multi-cultural and multi-lingual atmosphere.Although our programme is primarily aimed at executives living and working in Switzerland, more then a dozen nationalities are represented and about 20% of the participants take upon themselves to cross borders every other weekends. Some have even reserved their flights for the whole year ahead. We encourage participants from all backgrounds and nationalities to apply to our programme. |
